SABnzbd Manager
Posted on 24. Feb, 2010 by Terry Walsh in Internet
Experience Level: Advanced
SABnzbd Manager is an add-in which allows you to manage downloading from Usenet newsgroups, utilising the SABnzbd application. This application manages the download of parts of files, split over multiple newsgroup posts as well as the reassembling of those file parts into the full set of files.
The add-in automatically installs all of the files required to run – you simply need access to a decent Usenet server (some ISPs still offer Usenet access, and there are also third-party operators available who provide a full set of newsgroups commercially), as well as a source for .nzb files (Google can help here)

I gave up on this, I guess I found it a day or two too late. I’ve installed the newest version of SABnzbd, and installed it as a service. I use the advanced admin console with a shortcut to view it. It works for me.

Hi,
Very nice and usefull addon. I used it for a bit less than one year now, without any problem. Even the updates from the core app (0.4.6 to 0.4.x, to 0.5.0), are painless.
If I would require something, Iwould like the ability to launch automatically a VPN IPSEC connexion before lanching the conections to the news servers. I know I can use SSL, which is not so bad, but it’s sensible to MITM attack, and I feel more confident using IPSEC or both SSL and IPSEC, that is offered by some companies like Giganews…
Anyway, thank you very much for this addon !!!

I cannot get this add in to work at all. I installed it but could not get the service to start and then the uninstall doesn’t work either. I am essentially stuck with an add in that says that it is installed but there is no tab available. Any suggestions to remove or reinstall?
