I’ll try this one out as soon as it does not require to jailbreak the iPhone.

I agree with the jailbroken comment. If you charged $1.99 for this on the app store, people would buy it easy. I would.

I have the latest version 1.5 of the WHS Mobile add-in. I also downloaded the WHS mobile app on my iPhone 3G and my wife’s iPhone 3GS. I also have 3 user accounts enabled on my Home Server (all with the same level of permissions). I was able to get WHS Mobile working with my credentials, but If I try setting up the credentials for any of the other 2 user accounts, the iphone app fails to connect with the error : “The system has failed to login. Are you sure you have the right password?”.

Any ideas on what may be causing it?

Looks like adding the other 2 user accounts to the Power Users security group on the server resolved the issue.
The other issue that I’m seeing now is if I disable User Management and UPnP Forwards in the WHS console>Settings>WHS Mobile for a particular User, If I log in to the WHS Mobile app on my iphone as that user, the User and UPnP options are still showing on the bottom, but clicking any of them just crashes the app.

Sorry – I’m a dummy. I uninstalled the previous version and then installed the new one and it all works like a dream. Thanks for a great app.

I just ran into a issue, do remember to update both the WHS software and the iphone software, anything but the latest versions don’t seem to play well together.

Can this application also provide some support for backing up the windows mobile phone to the homeserver , a bit like the Microsoft My Phone Service tries to achieve in the cloud, but then better backed up on the own Windows home server ? Or anybody knows a tool that does that ?

I use a combination of live mesh and pimbackup. the backup is for emails, texts, contacts etc, and runs daily. then the backup folder is synced back to my server through mesh. I sync some other folders this way too – music and ebooks, and photos obviously.i get the benefit of being able to add stuff to my phone without a cable, just by dropping files into the mesh folder.

I’m aware that there are a few problems with this Iphone app. But the potential value of this app sounds great. Our problem is that at the AppStore in the Netherlands the old 1.0.1 version is still offered. Due to the way the AppStore works we are not allowed to obtain the 1.5.3 version from another localised store. I’m happy to pay a few bucks for a good app and support the developer (have read his problems with Apple’s philosophy and way of working). I hope other people will be able to help in this development! Keep on the great work.

I 10th the Android version. You are taking a windows product ignoring the windows mobile people and shipping a CrApple version, and ignoring the tweakers, the Android group.

CrApple is not where it is at anymore!
