Release History

v0.0.0.30

  • Re-use your old folder rips by ripping to a file from an existing folder rip.
  • If you don’t have a DVD drive inside of your WHS, now you can rip using your client PCs! The DVD Manager client installs much like the add-in for WHS but can run on your client PC and rip the DVD to the same share you set in the add-in’s preferences. Currently there isn’t way to monitor the percent complete but you can run this on as many PCs as you’d like (the log is merged on the server, so you can view that if need be), even ripping at the same time. The client also requires AnyDVD or DVD34 to decrypt the DVD and the Windows Home Server Connector software installed.

v0.0.0.15

  • v0.0.0.15 is basically the same as v0.0.0.15 but with a legal matter settled, new H.264, andiPod/PSP targets, and the disc detecting system redone.

I got it running right away with no problems at all. I have one issue though. It’s ripping right along as I type this but it’s only using 1 out of my 4 cores. Is this a WHS thing or can this be modified to take advantage of all 4 of my cores? I’m running an Intel server board with dual Zeon 2.1ghz processors. Memory usage is only 20% so I’m sure it could handle running all 4 cores.

Well the rip FINALLY finished. It was very disappointing to find that half way through it gets all scrambled and stays that way till the end…

likely to be something interferring here. I have mine doing 20 folder rips a time as I go back through all my folders across all four cores

My AVI’s are scrambled as well. I have a brand new WHS and just installed DVD Manager. It rips a DVD to AVI in about 90 minutes. When I play the AVI using Media Player, it starts out fine but then the picture scrambles 10 minutes into the movie.

Guess I’m not the only one with this problem. I just build a new WHS box with new hardware and will try this again…
