Drive Labeler updates the labels on the drives in the Storage tab of the Windows Home Server Console on the HP MediaSmart Server.

The drive labels are updated as follows:

  • Drives are correctly labeled as SATA rather than SCSI.
  • The drive bay location is appended to internal SATA drives
  • External SATA drives are correctly shown as External rather than Internal.

Just wondering if this Add-On works on just the MSS or if it will work on a home built WHS box?

It didn’t work for me on my HomeGrown box. Look at the tutorials of how to edit your drive lables via RegEdit. I just did it and it works great
